Curtain down - An excerpt from the last chapter of the book

"Oh, Ed. I never thought I would write such words to a man. Are you a man or an angel?

And if a man, oh, what a feeling…
And if an angel, oh, how sublime…"

Ode to Robin Williams

How can it feel
to leave all behind
in the hope that you will
finally,
get some rest from them all,
away from them all,
and most of all,
away from yourself?
How does it feel like
to have to face yourself
everyday,
in front of a mirror,
to only find a distorted image
that is nothing but you,
the real you they always fail to see?
How does it feel like
to make everybody laugh
when you feel like crying
and when all inside your chest
is fighting hard to resist
to one more day full of shit,
another night filled with pain?
How does it feel like
to make everybody cry
when you know they cannot get it,
that that is the real you they see
and yet, they think you're just
one of the greatest fakers of all?
Did you really think
that this would be the end of all?
I wish you were right...
I wish there was a way
to prove you right...
What a great fear
to find yourself
among the many,
the many of us who couldn't resist
the temptation to cease to be
because the world
was far too strange
for the weak humans
we grew up to be.
There are days I wish
I had the strength
and the weakness
to finally end
this process called life.
I still keep lingering in the doubt
that the pain will never end
regardless of the abrupt stops
in a journey I never wanted to take.
I wish you could tell me what you see...
Now... what is it that you really see???

* In memory of a great man who was much more than just a great actor.

A rare font which was Bogen's choice.

The same has been used in "Scribbling", my first published book of poems. I simply love it, it looks vintage, easy to read and shows character...

Cypresses and Willows - Elegy

Breathless she lay
in his hands she lingered
like a fallen leaf
that will never turn green.

Lifeless she lay
with her eyes wide open
staring yet again
at his greyest look.

While his skies were tearing
and his oceans stirring
his orphan soul pleading
for another breath of hers.

The night cries with him
as he holds her tight
trying but in vain
her warmth to bring back.

He would give it all
just to bring her back
denying his soul
even lose his faith.

Faith on wind and earth,
that life has got a meaning,
heavens hold a purpose,
humans are not just beings.

But now he is losing her
while he won't let go
of what she left behind
a word, a memory, the cold.

Faith is lost as she...
she cannot come back
even though he tries
to carve another Her.

Molding clay and mud,
carving wood and stone,
kissing alabaster frost
against the non-return.

It looks like her,
it smells like her,
to touch she can't reply
to kiss she can't kiss back.

The graveyard is my shelter,
her stone became my pillow
loneliness I fill with cypresses
and willows that murmur with her voice.

Miracles are lies,
my miracle has left,
and yet I see her sleeping
death cheated me with theft...

"Better late than never..." - A review on the book

A written review about this book has been recently posted on amazon.com.

It explores the dilemmas that the authors have been trying to picture in an artistic way, by trying not to lose that pinch of realism that makes each fiction story worth to be read as a heartfelt reality.
After all, it is a story that may happen to anyone on this planet, who has the guts of exploring the universe of diversities that lies in front. It may happen to those who have the capacity of sharing the most hidden parts of self to strangers that would do all but judge and accuse. It may occur to those who finally accept that there is nothing immoral and amoral in letting the feelings and emotions run free and unchained by the strings of a society that runs only on imposed morals, and which deep down, lacks the very basics of morality.
They know their relationship is against all odds, goes against their personal principles, breaks the rules they have imposed on themselves... but they cannot help it. They have to have that short indescribable fraction of bliss that only a prohibited feeling may give. They have to have each-other, at the cost of losing each-other forever.

Official Website of The Closeness...

There is an official website for our book just don't expect anything overwhelming... It is just a simple website with a few information on the book and the authors.

You'd be surprised how little there is about the authors... Some may wonder why. Well, for starters, because they want to remain silent in their real lives and instead, write what they think is a reality that anyone may experience throughout their lifetime.
Besides, any of you may be Ed and Lena (the characters), any of you may be authors of such a story, whether it is written or lived, imagined or felt...
